Every member of the university community is a risk manager within their own area, and our office is here when a matter calls for insurance guidance, claims coordination, risk transfer review, or help evaluating a significant, unusual, or uncertain risk. We work alongside you to manage risk so LSU can pursue its mission with confidence.
What We Do
We administer the university's risk management program, including risk financing and insurance, claims coordination, risk assessment, risk transfer review, and risk management awareness. We assess risk across the institution with the stakeholders closest to it, maintain the university risk inventory, and align insurance coverage with LSU's actual exposures.

When To Contact Us
Reach out as early as possible when you need help with insurance coverage or certificates of insurance, an agreement with insurance or indemnification provisions, an incident or claim, driver authorization, or a new or unusual activity where you are uncertain about the exposure. If you are unsure whether something rises to that level, that is reason enough to call.
