Employee Recognition Program
At Louisiana State University, we value the dedication and service of our employees. Effective April 1, 2025, the Office of Human Resource Management (HRM) in partnership with the Office of the President is coordinating the Employee Recognition Program.
This program celebrates milestone anniversaries throughout an employee's LSU career with meaningful acknowledgments. HRM is committed to ensuring that all milestones are recognized in a timely and consistent manner.
Milestone Recognition Breakdown
Years of Service | What You Receive |
1 & 3 Years | Email acknowledgment from LSU President |
5 Years | Email acknowledgment from LSU President and an electronic certificate |
10, 15, 20 Years | Printed certificate, letter from the LSU President, hand-delivered by HRM, and an LSU lapel pin as a milestone gift |
25+ Years | Printed certificate, letter from LSU President, hand-delivered by HRM, an invitation to the annual Jazz Brunch, and a milestone gift of the employee’s choice |
HRM will contact the employee at the beginning of their milestone month to schedule a delivery time for your packet.
Please note: Milestone recognition packets will be signed by the LSU President in office at the time your milestone was achieved.
Eligibility
Only active, full-time LSU employees on the A&M campus are recognized within this program. If you are a part-time, temporary, gratis, or nextSource employee, please check with your supervisor or department HR representative for information on any applicable recognition programs.
Employees at other LSU campuses should contact their Human Resource Office to learn about award programs at their campus.
Annual Jazz Brunch: Honoring 25+ Years of Service
Dedicated and loyal employees make LSU’s mission possible. The annual Jazz Brunch recognizes and honors LSU employees who have reached 25+ years of LSU service (in increments of 5 years). Employees, along with their manager, will receive an invitation to celebrate their committed service and are encouraged to make plans to attend this special event. Honorees receive an invitation via email to select an LSU-branded gift of their choice from the milestone collection as a token of appreciation for their steadfast dedication to the LSU mission. The Jazz Brunch is hosted by the Office of the President.

Run the Qualified LSU (Company) Service Award Report in Workday to view employees by milestone year.
To identify your departmental HR Analyst, in Workday, search and select the 'My HR Contact for Employees' report.
In order to celebrate our community in a timely manner, HRM will reach out at the beginning of the month you are celebrating your milestone to schedule a delivery time. Delivery will occur within your milestone month. If you are not able to receive it during your milestone month, contact employeerecognition@lsu.edu.
Email employeerecognition@lsu.edu for questions related to the Employee Recognition Program. Questions regarding the Jazz Brunch will be forwarded to the Office of the President.
The awards are granted based on the length of time employed by LSU. Time employed as a student employee, Graduate Assistant, unpaid Intern, or employed by other Louisiana State Agencies does not count. Honorees who reach a milestone during a calendar year will be recognized in a ceremony held early in the following calendar year.
The lapel pin gift was introduced as part of the updated Employee Recognition Program starting in 2023. Unfortunately, employees who reached milestones prior to this update will not be included retroactively.
