LSU Tiger Teacher Corps (TTC) will hold a Student Resource Fair on Wednesday, October 21, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Huey P. Long Field House Ballroom. TTC students can check their academic progress, connect with free resources, build meaningful connections and map out their next steps.
Josh Meade, an alumni of the LSU Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education's MA in educational technology program, co-directs a middle school band and jazz program serving 230 students in Connecticut daily. Drawing on his experience as a music educator and what he learned in the ed tech program, he recently developed and launched Battle Staff, a music literacy app for iPhone and iPad.
Best Buddies LSU was named the Outstanding Chapter of Louisiana at the Best Buddies Leadership Conference in Bloomington, Indiana, recognizing the chapter's efforts to advance the organization's mission of creating inclusive, lasting friendships between individuals with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. Allie Lowery, a pre-physical therapy student in the LSU School of Kinesiology and Best Buddies LSU chapter president, accepted the award on the chapter's behalf and attended the three-day conference.
"Growing up, my teachers were some of the biggest influencers, so I wanted to be there for others in the same way. It was finding which niche I wanted to teach that took a while. But luckily for me, the process at LSU was smooth."
