CHSE Email Signature

When communicating via email, it's essential to represent LSU and the College of Human Sciences & Education in a professional manner that aligns with the university's and college's brand standards.

Your email signature should include your full name, title, department, Louisiana State University, and office number. Additionally, recipients may expect to see your email address, alternate phone numbers, fax number, department website, and links to social media accounts.

Things to Avoid

  • Taglines from previous and completed fundraising campaigns
  • Script or special fonts
  • Images in your signature (may block your message from being received and/or display poorly for the message recipient)
  • Athletics logos, dated logos, unofficial LSU logos

How to Get Started

Mac Users:

  1. Open the Outlook app
  2. In the tool bar at the top of your screen, select "Outlook"
  3. From the dropdown menu that appears, select "Settings"
  4. In the Outlook Settings pop-up that opens, select "Signatures" from the Email category.
  5. Here, you can either edit your current signature or create a new signature.
    • If editing your current signature, click the "Edit" button under the list of signatures. A new window will open where you can edit your signature. Copy and paste from the above options, edit with your information, and save with the button in the upper left hand corner.
    • If creating a new signature, click the "+" button under the list of signatures. A new window will open where you can create your new signature. Copy and paste from the above options, edit with your information, and save with the button in the upper left hand corner.
  6. You can edit your signature name by double-clicking the signature option from the list.

Windows Users:

  1. Open the Outlook app
  2. Select the File tab
  3. Click Options, and then click Mail
  4. Scroll down to the Signatures section and click Edit
  5. Here, you can either edit your current signature or create a new signature

Office.com Users:

  1. Open Outlook in office.com
  2. Click the gear icon in the upper right hand corner to open Outlook Settings
  3. Select "Account" from the outer left hand side menu, and then select Signatures from the inner left hand side menu.
  4.  Here, you can edit or create a new signature.
    • If editing your current signature, select your signature from the dropdown menu, copy and paste one of the options above, edit with your information, and save with the blue button in the lower right corner.
    • If creating a new signature, select the "+ New signature" button, create a name for the new signature, copy and paste one of the options above, edit with your information, and save with the blue button in the lower right corner.
  5. Select default signatures with the dropdown menu, and save with the blue button in the lower right corner.
